Everything Alan Shearer said about contentious Tottenham footage vs Chelsea – ‘Embarrassing’
Tottenham’s struggles at home continued as they lost 1-0 against Chelsea on Saturday.
Joao Pedro’s winning goal came when Djed Spence and Micky Van de Ven were both dispossessed by Moises Caicedo, who then squared it to the Brazilian striker.
Thomas Frank was frustrated with Tottenham’s performance, which marked yet another disappointing display at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
After the match, Van de Ven and Spence appeared to ignore Thomas Frank‘s handshake before going straight down the tunnel on 1 November.

Speaking on Match of the Day on 1 November, Alan Shearer expressed the fact that the incident involving Spence and Van de Ven was not as big as it’s been made out to be, but did admit that the performance was laughable.
He said: “I totally understand why the players want to get in as soon as possible.
“They’ve been embarrassing today and they were booed off the pitch, and they just want to get in the dressing room and say their sorries later.
“They wanted to get off the pitch as soon as possible, so I can see it from their players’ point of view.”
Whilst Tony Cascarino criticised the footage, Shearer believes that both players will solely be focusing on the next match against Copenhagen on Wednesday.
Frank has been criticised for Tottenham’s performances this season, and against Chelsea, they were slow, sluggish, and ineffective in all departments.
The positive news for Spurs fans is that they sit fourth in the Premier League after not playing very well, yet upcoming fixtures could prove to be crucial for Tottenham’s season.
November is a massive month for Frank, and he must address the struggles in N17 with a win against Copenhagen in the Champions League.
Tottenham must end poor home form against Copenhagen
Spurs’ 3-0 win over Burnley is the only league win they’ve recorded at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season.
Defeats to Bournemouth, Villa, and now Chelsea have affected morale, whilst the draw at home to 20th-placed Wolves was incredibly disappointing.
Copenhagen won’t be an easy game at all, with the Danish champions drawing at home to Bayer Leverkusen earlier in their campaign.
With matches against Manchester United, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain all to come in November, it’s vital that Spurs go into those full of confidence.
