‘This is what Thomas Frank will do after latest incident with Tottenham players – It doesn’t look good at all…’
Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat to Chelsea typified their poor performances at home this season.
Joao Pedro’s first-half strike condemned Spurs to another loss at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, with the Lilywhites now sitting fourth in the table.
Micky Van de Ven and Djed Spence were both dispossessed by Moises Caicedo deep in their own half, before the Ecuadorian played the ball across for Pedro to finish home emphatically.
The scoreline was flattering in the end, and the gulf in class between both sides could not have been more evident on 1 November.
Van de Ven and Spence appeared to ignore Thomas Frank after the full-time whistle, sparking speculation over the manager’s authority.

Micky Van de Ven and Djed Spence acted poorly towards Thomas Frank
Van de Ven was the Tottenham hero in the 3-0 win over Everton last week, whilst Spence’s performances have earned him back-to-back England call-ups this season.
However, both players have made the headlines for the wrong reasons after the match against Chelsea.
With the game over, Frank offered a high-five to them on the pitch; however, both players ignored their manager and headed straight to the tunnel.
Speaking live on talkSPORT on 2 November, Tony Cascarino shed light on the situation and explained what Frank will do next.
He said: “The reaction of Frank is very different, and it doesn’t look good at all. You can clearly see he is not happy with their reaction.
“These were the two that were involved with the way the goal was conceded, and I’m not ok with that. I think Frank will move on from it as there are bigger issues to address.”
Whilst they would be understandably furious with the outcome of the game, it’s incredibly disrespectful for them to publicly ignore their manager in that manner.
Both players have been excellent this season, yet it was their lapse in concentration that led to the winning goal, and it would be unfair to blame all the issues on Frank.
However, it is clear that there are many problems with the way Tottenham play, most notably their lack of ability to create clear-cut chances.
Tottenham’s attack once again ineffective vs Chelsea
Spurs have historically struggled against Chelsea, and Saturday was no different.
They created 0.05 expected goals (xG), a figure which is appalling given the occasion of a match against one of their fiercest rivals.
Brennan Johnson has been woeful, creating just three chances in 10 Premier League appearances.
Randal Kolo Muani barely got a sniff, whilst Mohammed Kudus was left with all the pressure to be the one to create something special in the final third.
Tottenham’s defensive lapses against Chelsea finally cost them, yet there was no belief that they could break down their opponents.
Performances haven’t reflected Spurs’ points total, and if things don’t improve quickly, both the supporters and the team could start to lose faith in the Danish manager.
