Roberto De Zerbi achieved his aim of preventing Tottenham Hotspur from being relegated. He has vowed that the club can never get into the position they found themselves in last season. In order to do this, he needs to rebuild Spurs' roster.
Antonin Kinsky
Antonn Kinsky showed great resilience last season when bouncing back from the humiliation he suffered under Igor Tudor. He was subbed off after just 17 minutes in a defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
De Zerbi reinstated Kinsky into his lineup, and he made some crucial saves to ensure that Spurs kept their place in the Premier League. There was talk that the keeper would be on his way out of Spurs, and there would be a recruit in the position. However, rumors of a keeper such as James Trafford coming in have stalled, and De Zerbi appears to want to stick with Kinsky.
Conor Gallagher
When Conor Gallagher first joined Spurs in January, it was not seen as the best of fits, as he is so synonymous with Chelsea. His performances initially were poor. However, De Zerbi managed to get the best out of him and moved him into a more attacking role.
Gallagher scored a crucial opening goal against Aston Villa in an important victory for Spurs. It remains to be seen what De Zerbi will do with the midfield now that players such as James Maddison are back from injury. However, Gallagher's recent performances have shown what a good player he can be for Spurs.
If Spurs can sign Joo Palhinha permanently from Bayern Munich, then De Zerbi could build a formidable midfield.
Micky van de Ven
There were rumors that Micky van de Ven could be on his way out of Tottenham. He was linked with the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, and Barcelona. However, De Zerbi can get Spurs back into Europe, and this will match Van de Ven's ambitions.
Cristian Romero
Cristian Romero was a very disruptive captain for Tottenham last season. He was no stranger to taking to social media to have a rant. There was also the controversy as to whether or not he would be at Spurs' final game of the season. There were reports that he would be in Argentina watching his former club Belgrano. However, ultimately, he was at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to see his team beat Everton 1-0.
Romero's performances were not great, and he missed multiple games due to injury and suspension. He is one player that De Zerbi needs to get rid of. He has been linked with Atletico and Barcelona. He is a bad egg who does not want to be at Tottenham. It would be wise for De Zerbi to ship him out as soon as possible.
Guglielmo Vicario
As Kinsky appears to be De Zerbi's preferred goalkeeper, Guglielmo Vicario needs to move on to ensure first-team soccer. The Italian has been linked with a return to his homeland with big clubs such as Juventus and Inter Milan.
Dominic Solanke
Dominic Solanke missed much of last season due to ankle surgery. He played just three times under De Zerbi, where he failed to score or make an assist. He then suffered a muscle injury and did not feature in any of Tottenham's final four Premier League games of the season.
He is contracted to Spurs until 2030, but Richarlison scored some important goals for Spurs last season. They also have Matys Tel, who is a younger option but has yet to prove himself in a Tottenham shirt.
