Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin was not involved much this past season.

Tottenham Hotspur have been proactive in the transfer market, snapping up free agents Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi. They are continuing to pursue a transfer deal for Brighton centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke, who wants to be reunited with Roberto De Zerbi at White Hart Lane.

The Lilywhites’ primary focus has been rebuilding the defensive unit that was tormented by several opponents left, right and centre this past season. The acquisitions of experienced campaigners Robertson and Senesi for free represent extremely shrewd pieces of business, and if Van Hecke joins from Brighton, Tottenham’s backline would become more robust for the 2026/27 campaign.

Interestingly, the transfer developments happening has put the futures of a few Tottenham players in doubt. One of those is Radu Dragusin, who found game time hard to come by since returning from ACL injury in December 2025. Recent reports indicate that the Romanian international has told his agent, Florian Manea, to find him a new club this summer, having been frustrated with his lack of game time at N17.

Radu Dragusin’s agent waiting to know about Tottenham’s plans

Now, Florian Manea has admitted he is waiting to hold talks with Tottenham to find out what they have planned for his client, Radu Dragusin. He has pointed out that the central defender still has four years remaining on his contract, clarifying that there is no immediate reason to worry about.

“We have four more years of contract with Tottenham. I don’t know, maybe he will have to fight for a starting spot,” Manea said in an interview with Romanian outlet Digisport.

“I’m waiting to talk to Tottenham. For now, I don’t have any concrete offer. If the current club believes that Radu needs to leave, ok. But there is no stress at the moment.

“I saw that Tottenham transferred a central defender, we’ll see what happens. They will let us know what decision they will make regarding Radu. We have four years left on our contract.”

Fiorentina eye Dragusin move

The Romanian defender has grown increasingly unhappy with his situation at Tottenham. Despite Dragusin not featuring much for Spurs, his stock remains high in Europe.

AS Roma did try to sign the 24-year-old in the January transfer window, but they were ready to offer only a loan with an option to buy, which Tottenham were not ready to accept. Fiorentina were also keen, but an injury crisis led to the Lilywhites blocking the defender’s transfer. While a move didn’t materialise then, Fiorentina’s interest doesn’t seem to have faded.
