Leeds United face Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road in the early Premier League kick off, with Alan Shearer now having his say on the outcome.

Daniel Farke has enormous admiration for Spurs’ Thomas Frank and outlined his respect ahead of Leeds United’s seventh game of the Premier League season tomorrow lunchtime.

Surprisingly, Farke has a strong managerial record against Tottenham. However, this is his first game in charge of Leeds against Spurs. A win would see them go level with their visitors in terms of Premier League points.

Tottenham’s attacking issues offer Leeds hope, too. They have not been that effective in terms of open play chance creation. Despite that fact, Opta believe Leeds will struggle against Spurs.

Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer predicts Leeds vs Spurs

Jaka Bijol could be an interesting change for Leeds vs Spurs when considering their struggles against sides sat in deep and compact, with a switch to a back three or back five potentially the right way to frustrate them.

That said, the Whites have been building rhythm and momentum, which is why an unchanged XI for Leeds against Tottenham is extremely likely following Farke’s Leeds team news ahead of hosting Spurs.

Ally McCoist has had his say on Leeds hosting Tottenham already, but others have since had their say on the outcome ahead of Leeds looking to protect an unbeaten Elland Road run which hits 384 days tomorrow.

Speaking via The Metro, Alan Shearer — a regular pundit for the BBC — outlined his thoughts on tomorrow’s clash. He is predicting that Leeds will extend that unbeaten run to at least Friday 24th October.

He said: “With Leeds playing at home and Tottenham being away in the Champions League during the week, it won’t be an easy game. I’ll go for a draw. Prediction: Draw.”

It marks Archie Gray’s return to Leeds since leaving for Tottenham. He will come up against Anton Stach, who has fired Spurs a warning already ahead of the 12.30pm kick off at Elland Road.

Spurs metric offers Daniel Farke and Leeds further hope

Not only do Leeds have hope due to Spurs’ attacking issues but Spurs are the team who have the ‘overperformed’ the most in the Premier League so far, per the below from Opta Analyst.

Their model suggests that they should be 12th and not fourth. When you also consider that Spurs finished 17th last season, it could be argued that too much respect is being shown.

That is to say that Leeds shouldn’t be treating this as a UEFA Champions League level team, despite the fact Tottenham are in that competition this season.

Leeds’ unbeaten run could continue, if they play this one right on Saturday.
