Two of our players will depart for Morocco this week as they prepare to represent their countries at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Pape Matar Sarr has been included in Senegal’s squad for the showpiece tournament, while Yves Bissouma is set to represent Mali.
The prestigious event runs from 21 December to 18 January and takes place across six different host cities throughout Morocco.
Pape has played at the last two instalments of AFCON, memorably winning it in 2022, while this will be the fourth time Yves has been to the finals, dating back to 2017. He missed the 2019 tournament due to injury.
This year’s 24 participating nations will be split into six groups of four, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stages. The four best-performing third-placed countries will also qualify for the round of 16.
