Andy Robertson's contract at Liverpool expires at the end of the season and has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur this month
Andy Robertson has been told why he should consider a move away from the Premier League when the time comes for him to leave Liverpool. The left-back is out of contract at the end of the season and has been heavily linked with a move away from the Reds before the end of the January transfer window.
Robertson has struggled for regular starts for Liverpool this season following the arrival of Milos Kerkez in a £40million deal from Bournemouth.
As a result, Robertson’s future has been the subject of intense speculation, with Tottenham Hotspur recently expressing an interest in signing the Liverpool vice-captain.
As the ECHO recently reported, Liverpool and Tottenham have stopped holding talks over a deal for Robertson, with the expectation that the defender will now remain at Anfield after next Monday’s deadline.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Robertson beyond this season, with club sources stressing before the latest update about Tottenham’s interest that no decision had been made by the player or the club.

Amid the ongoing speculation, former Scotland manager Gordon Strachan has explained why a move abroad may be the best decision for Robertson.
“Andy Robertson’s next club will depend on what he wants to do at this stage of his career,” Strachan told Poker Scout.
“I believe at his age, he’ll get a kick from going abroad and seeing something different, rather than staying in the Premier League and signing for a club like Tottenham.
“When I was Andy’s age, I left Manchester United and moved to Leeds, which gave me a real injection of enthusiasm for my football.
“I think that’s what Andy wants – to enjoy his football again. He’s still at a level where he can play for most European clubs, so we’ll see who’s interested when summer comes round.”
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot stated that Robertson will be available for the club’s Champions League clash against Qarabag on Wednesday evening, and that he expects to have the 31-year-old stay at the club beyond this transfer window.
"Robbo is part of the team tomorrow evening," Slot said. "And he's been part of this squad, of this club for so many years. And I'm happy to have him.
"It's good that he's available, because that's quite important for us at the moment to have players available. It's hard to say anything definitive in this world we are in, but I expect him to stay, yes."
