Ange Postecoglou is pushing for Tottenham Hotspur to sign a forward who can fill different attacking roles and they have made contact with one big name.
Postecoglou’s squad has been decimated by injuries this term and Spurs are looking to support him during this month’s transfer window. The Lilywhites’ current injuries list includes Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Ben Davies, Destiny Udogie, Wilson Odobert, Mikey Moore and Richarlison.
Tottenham have already addressed their goalkeeper issue by signing Antonin Kinsky and now the next position is being targeted.
Ange Postecoglou asks Tottenham for versatile forward
Ange Postecoglou has asked Tottenham for a versatile forward this month, according to Paul O’Keefe. The Lilwhites already have two number nines in Dominic Solanke and Richarlison, but given the Brazilian’s injury history, they want another and for that player to be able to cover other roles when needed.
Odobert, Moore and Richarlison have all been missing for several months with injuries and illness, limiting Postecoglou’s ability to rotate his attackers. Solanke is in desperate need of a rest but doing so would significantly weaken the team.
Richarlison has proven himself to be a useful asset when fit, however, that doesn’t seem to be very often. Therefore, Spurs adding a new forward in this window will be key.
Fabrizio Romano has backed up TBR Football’s report claiming that Tottenham had made contact over a deal for Randal Kolo Muani.
Romano claims that the North London club are looking to sign a striker and work had started over a deal for the Frenchman.
Romano said on YouTube: “Tottenham are looking for a striker and Tottenham have made contact with PSG to understand the conditions over a deal for Randal Kolo Muani.”
However, Spurs are not the only club chasing him, Juventus and Aston Villa are also keen on the 26-year-old.
