Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Destiny Udogie will face around six weeks on the sidelines due to the hamstring injury he sustained against Wolves. Starting last Sunday's game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Italian suffered the issue early in the second half and had to be replaced by Sergio Reguilon.
Udogie struggled to walk off the pitch and the severity of the injury soon became clear. The left-back joins a long list of Tottenham players in the treatment room at present that includes the likes of Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Ben Davies and Cristian Romero.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday's game against Newcastle United, Postecoglou indicated that Van de Ven, Davies and Romero are expected to return at the end of the month, with Richarlison and Mikey Moore hopefully back next week. The boss also confirmed that Vicario is still out until the end of February.
"Destiny his hamstring. Looks around six weeks for him. We lose [Rodrigo] Bentancur suspended. None of the injured ones are back yet. We've had a bit of an illness bug with a few not training," he said in his pre-match press conference.
"At this stage Richy and Mikey Moore are the next cabs off the rank, we're hoping next week. Ben, Micky and Romero all kind of around the same time, back end of January."
When asked if Spurs could possibly lose more players due to the sickness bug, he said: "Not sure yet."
