Sandro Tonali transfer battle update
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined the chase to secure Newcastle star Sandro Tonali.
Arsenal were initially linked with a shock swoop for the Italy international at the close of the winter transfer window.
The Times reports that Spurs have held talks with Tonali's representatives regarding a potential switch to Roberto De Zerbi's outfit. Newcastle are said to rate the midfielder at up to £100million.
It is reported that Tonali has been touted to several clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United. Newcastle have already offloaded one of their key players this summer following Anthony Gordon's switch to Barcelona.
Arsenal deal Tottenham blow
Arsenal are reportedly keen on landing Tottenham Hotspur academy talent Elijah Upson.
The defender is poised to leave Spurs when his contract expires and could deliver the hammer blow of Upson joining their north London rivals.
The Athletic claims that Arsenal are pursuing Upson as part of their campaign to secure elite youngsters, after their pursuit of Leicester City's Jeremy Monga. Upson featured 23 times across all competitions last season, leading Spurs' U18s as skipper on numerous occasions.
The England U18 international is the son of former Arsenal centre-back Matthew Upson. The 47-year-old spent five-and-a-half years with the Gunners, making 57 appearances and claiming the Premier League crown in 2002.
