Aston Villa FC and FC Barcelona have joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign USMNT striker Folarin Balogun (25) from AS Monaco, according to L’Equipe. The former Arsenal youth graduate is a man in demand after a remarkable, in more ways than one, 2026 FIFA World Cup with Mauricio Pochettino’s team. Balogun also comes off the back of a strong season with the Ligue 1 side.
Like Maghnes Akliouche, who went on to leave the Principality for Ligue 1 rivals PSG, Balogun is also expected to leave Filipe Luis’s side with AS Monaco cashing in on their prized assets.
It has been reported earlier that Tottenham entered talks with Monaco to sign the €60m-rated Balogun, but Spurs are not the only clubs having registered an interest in the American. L’Equipe reports that Aston Villa FC have made their interest known. This comes after reports linking Ollie Watkins to Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal.
FC Barcelona, who need attacking reinforcements after parting ways with Robert Lewandoswki and Ferran Torres, are also monitoring Balogun.
