Tottenham Hotspur have the opportunity to bring in some more new faces before the end of the transfer window. They also have the chance to let some players head out the exit door as well if needed. The deadline is on Monday 1st September at a slightly earlier time than usual at 7pm.

Thomas Frank was picked as their replacement for Ange Postecoglou earlier this summer. Prior to his move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he caught the eye with fellow Premier League side Brentford. His new team won 3-0 at home to Burnley on the opening day to kick-start the new season with an impressive three points.

Tottenham Hotspur eye Brentford defender Nathan Collins

Spurs are interested in a move for Brentford defender Nathan Collins, according to CaughtOffside. They are being linked with a swoop for the centre-back. The report adds that the player is also on the radar of Liverpool and Manchester United as well.

Collins, 24, knows Frank well from their time at the Brentford Community Stadium together. The Republic of Ireland international, who has 30 caps under his belt, could be seen by his former head coach as someone to boost his defensive department. If he joined the Whites, he would give them more competition and depth at the back.

The Irishman signed for Brentford back in 2023 and has since become one of their most prized assets. He has made 77 appearances in all competitions and has scored four goals from the back. The Bees could now face a real battle to keep hold of him amid attention from elsewhere.

Collins moved over to England as a youngster to join Stoke City and went on to play 42 matches for the Potters. Spells in the top flight at Burnley and Wolves then followed on for him before his current club came calling. His future is now up in the air amid fresh links with Spurs and a potential reunion with Frank on the cards.

Tottenham Hotspur should offer Brentford swap deal

Brentford won’t want to lose Collins and rightly so, he is one of their main men. Therefore, Spurs need to think outside of the box as they look to snatch him away from Keith Andrews’ side. With that in mind, they should consider offering Brentford a player plus cash for his services.

Step forward Manor Solomon, who is facing an uncertain future at this moment in time. He is back following his impressive loan stint at Leeds United last term. The winger helped the Yorkshire club win the Championship title under the guidance of Daniel Farke.

He is unlikely to get into Spurs’ starting XI under Frank and an exit would suit all parties involved. He would be perfect for Brentford if they were able to get him. He would also be guaranteed regular first-team minutes there if he joined them.

The Bees have lost Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United and Yoane Wissa could also head out the exit door. That means they are crying out for some attacking reinforcements and they have room for someone like Solomon to come in and stake their claim. It would be an absolute no brainer to snap him up, especially if it meant sacrificing someone like Collins as part of the deal.
