Bryan Mbeumo is set to be on the move this summer, with both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur interested. The 25-year-old winger had another impressive season with Brentford, scoring 20 goals and providing eight assists, leading to transfer links with some of the Bees' Premier League rivals.
United have been purusuing a move for Mbeumo as Ruben Amorim looks to strengthen his squad for the 2025/26 season following a disappointing 15th-place finish. However, their initial bid of up to £55million was turned down by Brentford, who value Mbeumo at £5m dearer. Despite the setback, United are believed to be preparing another offer for the Cameroon international, who has earned 22 caps for his country.

The situation has been further complicated, though, by manager Thomas Frank's move to Tottenham. Frank, who spent seven successful years at Brentford, was appointed as Spurs' new boss earlier this month following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou.
With Tottenham finishing even lower than United in 17th place (despite beating them in the Europa League final), Frank is also looking to bolster his attacking options ahead of competing in the Champions League. The Danish tactician is keen on a reunion with Mbeumo, and Spurs made their first offer last week – which was reportedly higher than what was offered by Manchester United. Are Manchester United confident of signing Bryan Mbuemo?
Manchester United are reportedly still leading the chase for Mbeumo, despite Tottenham's keen interest. The MEN reports that Mbeumo favours a move to Old Trafford, although he hasn't ruled out the possibility of joining Spurs and reuniting with former boss Frank.
Spurs are said to be 'going hard' for Mbeumo, ready to tempt him with a lucrative salary, but United remain in pole position after their £62.5m investment in Matheus Cunha demonstrated the board's support for Amorim's squad revamp.
Amorim, who took over from Erik ten Hag in November, is believed to see Mbeumo as the ideal fit for his 3-4-2-1 formation, particularly to address the persistent issues on United's right flank, while he would also work hard to contribute defensively.

Bryan Mbeumo speaks out on transfer links
In the midst of swirling transfer rumours, Mbeumo has acknowledged the attention his future is attracting. Initial discussions between Spurs and Brentford have taken place, with the prospect of playing under Frank again at Spurs adding an intriguing dimension to the negotiations.
Mbeumo opened up about the ongoing speculation in a conversation with Sky Sports, saying: "It (the transfer speculation) is a bit new for me I would say. I think it can be the life of a footballer and you need to accept it."
He added: "It's been my best season so far in the Premier League. And even collectively, I think we did play very good games. I think we've been unlucky to chase the Europe spot, but I think it's been a fantastic season."
Despite rumours that Mbeumo leans towards a move to United this summer, the player has remained tight-lipped on where he will end up.
Spurs eye a Plan B
Spurs have reportedly identified a secondary target if their bid to sign Mbeumo falls through, with discussions already underway with representatives of Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo. The winger made a name for himself in the 2024/25 season, notching up 11 goals and six assists in the English top flight.
The Lilywhites are also drawn to his adaptability, as he can operate on the wing or lead the line. However, Bournemouth are not likely to let the 25-year-old go cheap, slapping a hefty £60m price tag on him to reflect his vital role in the squad.
