Chelsea's Acheampong a target for Palace
Latest from Sky Sports News' James Green and James Savundra:
Josh Acheampong has emerged as a potential target for Crystal Palace in this window.
Palace are considering a number of options - both short term and long term - to help fill the void left by former captain Marc Guehi.
And the 19-year-old Acheampong is one of the names currently being discussed.
No formal conversations are understood to have taken place yet between Palace and Chelsea.
The two clubs have a strong working relationship, having traded a number of players in recent years.
Last season, Chelsea allowed Trevoh Chalobah and Ben Chilwell to join the Eagles on loan, and before that the likes of Guehi and Conor Gallagher have followed that well-trodden path.
It is currently unclear whether Chelsea would sanction a permanent sale in this window or allow the youngster to depart on loan. They are looking to sign a centre-back themselves amid injuries to several defenders.
Acheampong has started both domestic cup matches under new head coach Liam Rosenior and featured in the last four Premier League matches.
Glasner: Difficult to lose Guehi - but we are capable of coping
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner in his programme notes:
"Marc Guehi left us to join Manchester City last week. It's difficult to lose a player of his calibre and character, but as this team has shown before, we are capable of coping with change and adapting when a top quality player leaves.
"I'd like to wish him the very best for the rest of his career and thank him for his contribution.
"He is a fantastic player and a fantastic guy as well. As a person, he is a role model for all young footballers coming through. The way he conducts himself both on and off the pitch is outstanding.
"I'm proud to have been associated with him and I'm sure he has a great future ahead of him."
