Chelsea increased Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League relegation fears after beating them 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night

Chelsea have fired a 17-word dig at Tottenham Hotspur after damaging their Premier League survival hopes. The Blues continued their excellent record over Spurs after beating them 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

Tottenham have won just once in 36 years at Chelsea and goals from Enzo Fernandez and Andrey Santos continued that wretched record. Roberto De Zerbi's men now head into the final day with their top-flight survival hopes in the balance.

Spurs still need a point to guarantee safety for another season, with a defeat and a West Ham win over Leeds enough to send them down on Sunday.

And Chelsea have appeared to mock Spurs with a post on X, which states their dominant record over Tottenham.

They said: "Chelsea have won more games in all competitions against Tottenham than we have against any other club."

Chelsea will now look to end the season with some momentum ahead of Xabi Alonso's arrival in west London this summer. The Blues visit Sunderland on the final day.

Interim head coach Calum McFarlane revealed post-match on Tuesday that his team have been targeting two wins from two in their final few games after Saturday's FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City.

He said: "I said it at the beginning of the game and we said it after the City game that we need to put that behind us. The cup final's gone.

"We need to try and win two games out of two. We've done one now and we've got to go again on Sunday and do that again."

McFarlane was also asked about Chelsea's hopes of securing European football on the final day and whether it is an extra motivation for his side.

The 40-year-old added: "I genuinely think that they've shown that. The results haven't been good enough recently. We know that everyone's spoken about that. But the fight and determination has been questioned at times and some of the performance, maybe that's right.

"But I don't think it's extra motivation. I think this group wants to win every single game of football and we just haven't been able to do that. But that will give us confidence.

"We haven't won in a while in the Premier League. We haven't won at the Bridge in a while. So that's something to definitely go off."
