Eden Hazard’s goal for Chelsea against Tottenham in 2016 put the final nail in the coffin to their Premier League title hopes. A decade later, there is a genuine chance they are relegated this season.
Spurs sit just four points above the relegation zone, and even adding Conor Gallagher on £200k-a-week to their squad has not bolstered their prospects.
Chelsea may keep an eye on a potential fire sale in North London, but for now will be enjoying one of their fiercest rivals’ nightmare campaign.

Eden Hazard hints Spurs could be relegated in savage dig
Hazard still has a great affection to the Blues, and took the opportunity to aim a dig at Spurs when he was interviewed on RMC Sport.
First, Hazard made a dig that he didn’t consider Spurs a big club, saying: “In Belgium we had, I’m talking about the five best clubs in the world. You have Thibaut, you have De Bruyne , and you have me.
“Even Romelu doesn’t count, he’s at Everton, I think, in 2018, maybe at Everton, He came with us to Chelsea, but he didn’t really play, you know. He may have been at United, but it wasn’t his best period either.
“And you have the players at Tottenham. But I don’t consider Tottenham a big team. Just a little dig.”
When the interviewer reminded the former winger that they were still a Premier League side, Hazard simply said: “We’ll see in two months.”
Even outside of that famous game at Stamford Bridge, Hazard enjoyed a very strong record against Spurs. He scored six goals and assisted three in 17 games against them.

Chelsea could deliver final blow to Spurs’ Premier League status
Chelsea have already done their bit in making life difficult for Spurs this season with their 1-0 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this season.
The prospect of delivering what could be the final blow to their rivals is an intriguing one though, and an opportunity which has come Chelsea’s way this season.
The Blues will host Igor Tudor’s side in the penultimate game of the season, and if things don’t turn around quickly there could be real jeopardy regarding their place in the league hanging over that clash.
