Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are reported;y interested in signing 25-year-old Canadian striker Jonathan David from Serie A club Juventus.

A report from Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web has stateed that Chelsea and Tottenam Hotspur are currently working on a deal to sign Jonathan David. The two London giants are “making assessments” about a deal for the 25-year-old Juventus striker.

The Canadian international has not been able to live up to the expectations since his move to the Serie A club. David was expected to lead the line for them and establish himself as a key player for the club. However, he has found the back of the net just once.

Juventus are looking to bring in a quality alternative and they are prepared to sell him in the coming months. It will be interesting to see if any club is willing to secure his signature in January. Chelsea have already signed two strikers during the summer transfer window, and it will be quite surprising if they decide to invest in another goal scorer.

David has previously shown his quality in France, and there is no doubt that he is a quality player. If he manages to regain his form and confidence, he could be a very useful acquisition for Chelsea.

Spurs could use David

Meanwhile, Tottenham need to bring in another striker and have their sights set on David. Dominic Solanke and Richarlison have been inconsistent. They need more cutting-edge in the final third, and the 25-year-old Canadian international could be the ideal acquisition for them.

The Juventus striker will be hungry to prove himself at the highest level. His desire to succeed will be a bonus for Tottenham. The Serie A giants signed the player on a free transfer, and they are hoping to sell him for a profit. It is unlikely that they will demand a substantial amount of money for him, given his current performances.

David could be available for a reasonable amount of money, and it remains to be seen where he ends up. If Tottenham manage to sign him on a bargain, the deal could look like a masterstroke in the long term. The striker has the physicality and technical attributes for English football, and he will look to get back to his best once again. Perhaps a fresh start could be ideal for him right now.
