Rodrygo remained with Real Madrid past the summer window, despite being the subject of constant transfer speculation. PSG were one of the clubs most often linked to him, but nothing ever came of it.

Reports about the French club’s pursuit have varied. Foot Mercato’s Josué Cassé said Rodrygo wasn’t on PSG’s list of targets. At the same time, Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported that both PSG and Liverpool were watching him closely, with Tottenham Hotspur no longer in the mix.

A transfer to Paris later on isn’t out of the question, depending on how Rodrygo’s situation unfolds this season at Real Madrid.

TEAMtalk has since reported that Tottenham now consider him a primary attacking target. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching, Rodrygo is reportedly seeking more consistent playing time and views a move to the Premier League as an appealing next step. Nonetheless, this rumor appears to have conflicting information.

Are Premier League Clubs Eyeing Rodrygo?

Plettenberg reports that the rumor connecting Tottenham Hotspur to Rodrygo remains inaccurate. A potential deal appears unrealistic primarily due to the winger’s salary demands.

Even so, a January transfer cannot be ruled out entirely, as clubs continue to explore the market. Rodrygo’s current contract with Real Madrid runs through 2028.

Additionally, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano noted that there are no ongoing talks between Chelsea and Rodrygo regarding a possible January move.

Recently, Mundo Deportivo reported that Tottenham are preparing a move for Rodrygo, aiming for a fee in the region of €80 million. The Brazilian forward has seen limited playing time under Xabi Alonso at Real Madrid.

However, the move would likely take place closer to June 2026, as the Spanish club have no plans to let him leave in January.
