Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn are unlikely to be able to run back their grudge match on September 27 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Organisers were eyeing the autumn date for a second fight at the same location as the Brits' epic inaugural encounter.

However, it was announced on Wednesday morning that Spurs will host Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League that day, throwing a spanner in the works.

It won't come as too much of an inconvenience for both parties, though, with several back-up dates understood to be up for consideration.

One of those in the mix is September 20, when Tottenham play Brighton away in the league.

Eubank Jr defeatedBennvia unanimous decision two months ago in a barnburning 12-round war at Tottenham's 62,000 seater.

Both men signed contracts for a two-fight deal, and talks are progressing towards tying up the sequel in the coming weeks.

Providing an update last month, Benn's promoter Eddie Hearn told Sky Sports: "I know September 27, back at Spurs, is a date that he [Turki Alalshikh] has put forward and proposed.

"We're ready, really. We signed the contract for two fights.

"Conor's just desperate to run it back. He feels like he's going to improve a lot going into that fight.

"[It was] his first fight in 14, 15 months, at 160lbs.

"Look, they provided us with just a night we'll never forget in so many ways.

"And both fighters deserve so much credit. We'd love to run it back."

Benn moved up two weight classes to box Eubank Jr at middleweight in a continuation of their fathers' bitter rivalry.

The pair laid it all on the line in one of the best fights ever seen on British soil.

Benn's stock increased tenfold in defeat, and many pundits believe he should move back down to welterweight to mount a title charge.

But 'The Destroyer' is intent upon exacting his revenge.
