We’re proud to have been named a winner at the inaugural Sport Integrity Awards, organised by the Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA), in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, today.

These are the world’s first International Awards dedicated exclusively to celebrating, promoting and advancing the highest integrity standards across the industry by recognising organisations and individuals that champion Sport Integrity.

The Club was honoured as a Leader in Sustainability & Innovation for setting a global benchmark in integrating environmental, social and governance principles into its operations.

The award’s criteria are based on the following areas:

• Implementation of sustainable practices in event management, facility use, or operations.

• Measurable environmental impact (e.g. carbon reduction, circular economy, green procurement).

• Social impact aligned with integrity (e.g. community engagement, health and inclusion).

• Transparency in sustainability reporting and accountability.

• Advocacy for responsible sport aligned with broader ESG frameworks.

The judging panel commented that the club has set “a global benchmark in integrating environmental, social and governance principles into club and event operations. With a fully certified sustainable event management system, publicly reported emissions data, 100 per cent renewable electricity at its stadium and pioneering work on circular economy practices and biodiversity, the club has demonstrated that top-level sport can be delivered in a manner consistent with climate action, resource efficiency and nature protection. Its community programmes and transparent reporting frameworks further show how sustainability and integrity can be embedded into a club’s long-term identity and business model.”

The Club is a signatory of the UN Sports for Climate Action Framework, committing to halving its carbon emissions by 2030 and becoming net zero by 2040. In June, 2024, the Club achieved certification to ISO 20121 standard for sustainable event management and, earlier this year, became the first Premier League club to join the UN-backed Sports for Nature Framework, which aims to deliver transformative nature-positive action across sports by 2030 and beyond.

Matthew Collecott, Operations & Finance Director, Tottenham Hotspur, said: “This award highlights our ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability and integrity across our operations – from ISO 20121 certified event management and 100 per cent renewable electricity at our stadium and training centre, to our environmental projects and community programmes delivered through the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. We remain committed to reducing our environmental impact, promoting social inclusion and using sport as a platform for positive change.”

Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, Co-Founder & Global CEO of SIGA, and Executive Chairman of SIGA ASIA, said: “The SIGA Sport Integrity Awards honour individuals and organisations whose leadership has set the highest standard for integrity in Sport. These Awards go beyond recognition. They honour tangible achievements and meaningful impact — actions that advance integrity, strengthen institutions and build real trust across the sporting world. They highlight those whose leading example sets the benchmark for others, creating a legacy that will shape the sector for years to come. The recipients we celebrate tonight have shown that integrity is not optional; it is precisely the foundation upon which the credibility and future of Sport rest. Through their decisions, their reforms and their unwavering commitment to Sport Integrity, they are shaping how the industry is governed and experienced across the globe.”
