Spanish side Girona have reactivated the idea of signing Bryan Gil on a free transfer, if he is released by Tottenham Hotspur.
That’s according to journalist Nil Solà, who reports that the Spanish club are interested in bringing Gil back if he is available on a free.
He explains that they are looking at repeating the operation that they concluded this week for Alex Moreno. He was released from his contract by Aston Villa and then signed for the club not long afterwards
According to his information, Gil is totally willing to make the move to Montilivi. It remains to be seen what Tottenham’s stance on the matter is, though.
Gil is not a part of their current plans and has spent the last few seasons out on various loan deals, including at Girona last season.
The player’s current deal expires in 2026 so this summer is the last in which they can make any sort of money on him. He cost €25m to sign from Sevilla in 2021.
He’s also out injured with a ligament tear, though, and that’s made finding a permanent exit, even at a reduced fee, a difficult task. Perhaps Girona are looking to take advantage of that and get Gil on a free transfer at the end of the window.
