Following Como’s 2-0 win over Lazio on Sunday, Nico Paz was asked about interest from Tottenham.

The player made it clear that he’s keen on taking the Italian side to new heights, as Gianluca di Marzio reported that Spurs’ latest offer was rejected.

Now, Como owner Mirwan Suwarso has spoken to Corriere della Sera and was asked about the 20-year-old and the approach from Tottenham.

The Indonesian explained that no offer has been rejected and initially the club feared losing the Argentine to Real Madrid.

“It’s not true that we rejected the offer. No one formalises an offer knowing that then we should send them to Real Madrid, who have the right to match.”

Further, Suwarso stated that Paz has dreams of playing for Real Madrid again in the future.

“There was a moment when we feared Nico might return to Madrid: he grew up in Real Madrid’s youth academy and dreams of playing at the Bernabeu one day. Luckily, he stayed.”

While Suwarso has dismissed talk of Tottenham’s rejected bid, Quotidiano Sportivo add more fuel to the fire today.

The outlet claim that Thomas Frank’s side are preparing a new bid for the talent and can now offer over €80m for him, although that would likely be an informal bid initially.

Despite this, Como’s stance is clear and they are not interested in a sale. They continue to talk to Real Madrid about reducing Los Blancos’ control over Paz, as they do not want to hand the Spanish side 50% of what they earn from the attacking midfielder’s future sale.
