Arganese-McDermott was born in Marbella, Spain, and moved to England with his family at the age of four.

A product of Luton Town’s Academy system, Pele developed through the club’s youth ranks before his progress and potential were recognised by Spurs, as he joined the club on a full-time basis in July 2022, before signing his first professional contract just two months later in September 2022.

Having spent over five years with the Premiership outfit, Pele now joins the Reds to embark on his first chapter of senior men's football.

Having put pen to paper on his two-year contract, Pele Arganese-McDermott said: “I am very happy to be here, and I can’t wait to hit the ground running. Selfishly, I am delighted that the move has been sorted so early, as I can really focus heading into the season now that I know where I am going to be. I think the Manager is very good, and I have had some excellent conversations with him, so I think it is an exciting time to join the club.”
