Cristian Romero has described Tottenham Hotspur's 2-1 defeat to West Ham as a 'disaster'. The Spurs captain was at the heart of the action on Saturday afternoon as Callum Wilson fired the Hammers to victory.
Crysencio Summerville put West Ham ahead after a quarter of an hour. Romero, who accidentally deflected the West Ham forward's strike past Guglielmo Vicario, redeemed himself in the second half.
The Argentina international pulled back an equaliser shortly after the hour mark, latching onto a great cross from Pedro Porro to head the ball past Alphonse Areola. Despite Romero's best efforts, Tottenham couldn't find a winner.
In the dying embers of added time, Wilson snatched three points for West Ham, reacting quickest to a loose ball in the six-yard box. Upon the full-time whistle, there was a chorus of boos.

Tottenham supporters in the south stand singled out Thomas Frank and called for him to be sacked. They chanted: "You're getting sacked in the morning..."
Speaking to reporters after the game, Romero thanked the fans for their support. The Argentine said: "In this moment we need to stay together, work hard, come back tomorrow to the training ground. It's a disaster in this moment for us.
"Thank you to the fans for always staying with us. Tomorrow, we will train in silence, work hard again, midweek we have another big match. At this moment this is a disaster for us.
"We played sometimes good, sometimes bad. We must work hard and go again. It's a difficult moment for us. We are not the best on the pitch."
Meanwhile, Frank accepted the blame and urged the fans to remain behind the players. When quizzed on the chants, the Tottenham boss said: "Of course, I've probably had better times, it's probably not the best time of course.
"But I understand, I'm the man in charge. So the blame will go to me. That's fair, no problem in that sense. As long as they are backing the players, doing everything they can, to support them and drive them forward, that's what we do, and we will keep going forward."
On his players' efforts, Frank said: "Yeah, but I always, we say that they play for the head coach or me. I hope the players are playing for the club, the team, each other, the fans, me, the staff, ownership, everything. They play for their families. That's what I hope.
"But I also know, and that I know very well, if you are building a good culture and someone who can get through tough times, you need to see the team running, and especially in tough times.
"I see a team that is running in tough times. I also see a team that's doing everything they can to turn this around. I also think you can see that in quite a bit of the performances, even when it's very tough."
