Tottenham are looking likely to part ways with interim boss Igor Tudor over the international break, but who replaces him?

Tottenham Hotspur are still assessing their options with regard to Igor Tudor’s role as interim head coach at the club, four days on from the embarrassing 3-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

The appointment of Igor Tudor is yet to yield a ‘managerial bounce’, with Spurs managing just one point from five league games under his tutelage. Recent reports suggest that the Croatian would leave the club by mutual consent, following the sad passing of his father, Mario, but nothing concrete has yet come out. The ongoing international break gives the N17 chiefs the best opportunity to make a managerial change and save the club from going down.

Another temporary appointment looks likely at this point, with none of the leading full-time managerial candidates, Roberto De Zerbi and Mauricio Pochettino, ready to join the club for the remaining seven games of the season.

Danny Murphy suggests former West Ham and Crystal Palace boss for the Tottenham job

Tudor’s position at White Hart Lane has become untenable following the dire 3-0 home loss to Nottingham Forest. Although Spurs have not yet sacked the 47-year-old, they are actively looking to replace him for the final stretch of games to stop the ship from sinking into the Championship waters.

Now, talkSPORT pundit Danny Murphy thinks his former club should hire survival specialist Sam Allardyce for the interim role.

“Well, right now, the one who screams at me, but he’s not Tottenham, is Sam Allardyce,” Danny Murphy said on talkSPORT.

“He’s the man who knows how to get results, but he’s been out of the game for a while, so it’s probably unrealistic.”

Could Tottenham pivot to Sam Allardyce?

One of the most experienced managers in English football, Sam Allardyce, is the ultimate relegation firefighter. The 71-year-old has previously steered Blackburn Rovers, West Ham, Sunderland, Everton and Crystal Palace to safety in the Premier League, among others.

However, his last two jobs both resulted in relegation from the Premier League, with West Brom and Leeds United, respectively. On top of that, Allardyce has not managed since 2023 and has switched to punditry roles with several media houses, making his potential appointment highly unlikely.

Tudor is clearly not the man to guide the club to safety, as evidenced by his tactics and man-management skills. Whoever comes in now as his replacement has to hit the ground running, as the Lilywhites are running out of games. Fans will hope that the Hotspur Way boss appoints someone with expertise in successfully keeping clubs afloat in the Premier League.
