Tottenham Hotspur have been very impressive under Thomas Frank so far, and Darren Bent has been super impressed with one Spurs star in particular.

Thomas Frank has already improved several Spurs players and has also helped the team to start picking up results in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur headed into the international break sitting third in the Premier League, which has largely been thanks to their new manager.

Darren Bent has now hailed one of Spurs’ top performers from this season, and believes the manager has helped him to become even better.

Darren Bent thinks Thomas Frank has improved Djed Spence at Tottenham

Bent believes Djed Spence has been one of the standout performers over the international break and thinks Frank has made him even better.

Tottenham fans loved Spence’s skill against Latvia, as the defender played 90 minutes in both of the Three Lions’ wins over the last week.

Spence has been playing with great confidence, and that has continued to rise since the arrival of Spurs’ new Danish head coach.

When asked to name a player who’s really stood out recently, Bent told TalkSPORT: “I’ve gone for Djed Spence. I think his run-up until this point has been incredible.

“Obviously, he had that falling out with Warnock, then went to Forest and was brilliant. Then Spurs signed him, but Conte didn’t sign him.

“It was a club signing and got sent out on loan, then he came back and he’s been given an opportunity and has never looked back.

“He looked brilliant. He completely wrapped up Brennan Johnson, who didn’t want any part of that game whatsoever, and he’s getting better and better. So I’m going for Djed Spence.”

Ian Wright and Roy Keane left split over Djed Spence’s form

Meanwhile, Roy Keane has been less sure about Spence’s recent upturn in form and has questioned some of his defending.

The former Manchester United captain believes that the Spurs star can sometimes be guilty of switching off at the back post; however, Ian Wright disagreed with him.

Speaking about the Spurs defender, Keane told ITV Sport: “It’s nice he can give the manager options because he can play on either side, he’s been decent.

“I wasn’t sure about him a year ago, but I’m still worried about his defensive side a bit. But he’s knuckled down and he’s maturing and he’s getting these opportunities and he’s taken them.”

Wright then questioned him by asking: “Would you say it’s his defensive positioning or the one versus one? Because I think he’s pretty good with the one-versus-ones.”

“Yeah, maybe stuff around the back post, sometimes I think one versus ones are easier for players when they’ve got a bit of pace, but it’s the other side of the game, maybe concentration levels, Wrighty. But he’s obviously learning,” added Keane.
