Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo has a decision to make as Tottenham and man United fight hard for his signature

Now that the managerial situation at Tottenham is sorted out, Daniel Levy must act fast to bring in some players that would elevate the quality of the squad. The Lilywhites cannot start the new season with the same crop of players after enduring their worst Premier League campaign last season. The North London club needs to be proactive in the summer and back Thomas Frank.

The attacking line needs a revamp in the summer after it became clear that most of the players are way their best. Club captain Heung-Min Son showcased steady decline throughout the season, and the South Korea international also lost his place in the starting eleven as a result of that.

Not only Son, but Mathys Tel also failed to make an instant impact at N17 following his arrival from Bayern Munich in January. But the Frenchman is still young and he still has time to learn his trade at Hotspur Way. His massive potential and high ceiling earned him a permanent deal and fans are eager to see him develop at the club in the coming years.

Tottenham still waiting to land Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo in the summer

Tottenham are eager to bring in some quality wide-players that would thrive under Thomas Frank next season. It was reported earlier that Spurs are interested in signing Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo in the summer and view him as an upgrade to what the Lilywhites have on the flanks. However, a deal to sign the Cameroon international is complicated as Manchester United are leading the race for his signature.

But John Wenham believes that Spurs will find a way to win the race for Mbeumo’s services in the coming weeks. Speaking to Tottenham News, Wenham said,

“I still think Mbeumo will join Tottenham. Manchester United have already invested heavily in Matheus Cunha. I think they were planning, regardless of what is now reported, to sell Fernandes to Saudi Arabia.”

The Lilywhite Rose owner added,

“However, he turned down that deal, which would have secured United a huge financial windfall. Therefore, I think that is why they’ve been unable to proceed with the Mbeumo deal, and I do think the player will end up at Tottenham.”

John Wenham has suggested that Tottenham will win the race to sign Bryan Mbeumo. The Lilywhite Rose owner added that Man United have already signed Matheus Cunha and were planning to cash-in on Bruno Fernandes in the summer. Wenham insists that the Portugal international’s reluctance to join Al-Hilal will hinder the Red Devils’ chances of signing Mbeumo due to the financial windfall that the club will suffer.
