Tottenham have wasted no time at all this summer, strengthening Roberto De Zerbi's squad with four new transfer additions
Tottenham have unveiled the signing of veteran goalkeeper Martin Dubravka upon the expiry of his contract with Burnley.
However, it has now emerged that Spurs were not the only option on the table for the former Newcastle and Manchester United shot-stopper.
That's because Sparta Prague director Tomas Rosicky, the ex- Arsenal midfielder, was trying to bring the Slovakian back to the Czech club.
Dubravka spent a season with Sparta Prague before joining Newcastle on an initial loan back in 2018.
Rosicky said during a press conference on Wednesday: "We had great conversations.

"We've been in contact for a long time and we'd given each other a clear deadline by which both sides have to make a decision and they won't wait any longer."
It was supposedly around two weeks ago when Rosicky finally accepted an agreement would not be possible.
He explained: "Martin will continue in England and we did not want to wait any longer. The options we had discussed would have escaped us."
Experienced Dubravka is expected to provide competition and support for 23-year-old Antonin Kinsky, who is poised to keep the No.1 spot next term after finishing the campaign strong under Roberto De Zerbi.
Guglielmo Vicario is expected to return to Italy after three seasons with Spurs.
Inter Milan and Juventus have both been sniffing around the Europa League winner but are yet to formalise their interest.
Dubravka has already shared his delight after clinching his move to north London, though the deal will not be formalised until July 1.
He told the club's official website: "It's an exciting time for me, a new journey and new experience for me and my family. I'm looking forward to it.
"Everything moved pretty quickly and I'm really happy to be here. I've loved watching Roberto's teams over the years and know all about his style, vision and the fantastic fans here.
"Tottenham Hotspur is one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and I can't wait to meet everyone and get started."
De Zerbi also added on his latest addition: "I am very happy because Martin is a goalkeeper with big experience and a strong mentality.
"He has very important qualities for me and will bring balance, leadership and competitiveness to our dressing room."
