Antoine Semenyo was the clear priority transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur at the forward positions, but it did not take long for the Bournemouth breakout star to reject Spurs with virtually all the Premier League Big Six - besides, notably, his childhood favorite club Arsenal - interested in acquiring his services from the Cherries.
Before the January transfer window even opened, though, Tottenham fell out of the race, and although Liverpool and Manchester United have not fully given up yet, it has become abdundantly clear that Manchester City are the favorites, owing to the Citizens being Semenyo's preferred transfer destination.
Of all the teams for Semenyo to choose besides Spurs, Man City are by far the best option, because they open up options that could be available for Spurs this winter whom some Tottenham fans view as being as (or even more) favorable than Semenyo.
Savinho isn't the only option
The most obvious is Savinho, a winger whom Spurs tried to sign in August but were unable to pry from Manchester City. Another is Omar Marmoush, a goal scoring left winger who could be an ideal fit for what Tottenham are missing up front.
And now, there is a third name who could be made available. According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, youngster Oscar Bobb could leave Manchester City this January window. He will "seriously consider his exit" if the Antoine Semenyo transfer from Bournemouth is successfully completed by the Citizens. Per Romano, "several clubs" have already reached out to Man City with interest, though the only club he concretely links is Borussia Dortmund, the club most known for signing top young talents. Their last big winger move from Man City? Jadon Sancho, who was a Bundesliga Player of the Season contender for BVB.
Bobb has not been scintillating for Manchester City, but he is only 22 years old and has been good enough to start five games for the Citizens this season despite playing on a roster loaded with wingers. He has even started more Premier League matches this season than Marmoush, which says a lot about how Pep Guardiola views him.
But Bobb is not any younger than Savinho, nor is he more productive - not even in a down year for the Brazilian. Although he would be cheaper and is a viable option for Spurs to consider, if Tottenham are going to sign another left footed right winger from Man City, Savinho is still the favorite.
