Tottenham Hotspur are expected to return to the table with another bid for West Ham United man Mohamed Kudus with personal terms not said to be an issue, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Spurs have seen an offer of around £50m rejected by West Ham but are expected to submit another bid with Kudus keen on a move to North London. After winning the Europa League under Ange Postecoglou, Spurs are looking to build a squad strong enough to compete in the Premier League and Champions League.

Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel have joined on permanent deals following their loans, with the pair costing just north of £50m. Luka Vuskovic has also joined from Hajduk Split. Kudus has been dubbed as a “top target” by Romano, who gave an encouraging update on the move from a Tottenham perspective.

Fabrizio Romano gives update on Tottenham Hotspur move for Mohamed Kudus

Romano said on his YouTube channel: “What I'm told about Kudus is that Tottenham made the first proposal to West Ham, it was rejected because West Ham didn't want to accept that value for the player. The bid was something around £50m.

“Tottenham are expected to bid again for Kudusm so in the next days Tottenham want to attack. Thomas Frank has approved internally Kudus as a top target for Tottenham this summer, as a crucial target for Tottenham this summer.

“So they are prepared to advance and push for Kudus and then, on the player side and probably the best news for Spurs fans is that it is my understanding Kudus wants to go to Tottenham.

“Kudus is giving total priority to Tottenham, he is not negotiating with other clubs because he's giving priority and his intention is to go to Tottenham, so when you see the player with his intention it's probably the best news possible for the club to try to get the deal done.

“Kudus is taking a position he wants to go to Tottenham, he has an agreement with Tottenham and personal terms are not an issue and so Kudus is pushing to make his move to Spurs to go with Thomas frank and to have the opportunity to play with Tottenham.”

What could Mohamed Kudus bring to Tottenham?

The 24-year-old Ghana international joined West Ham in 2023 and enjoyed an impressive first campaign in English football. He scored 14 goals and provided nine assists in 45 games for the Hammers. In 35 games last term, he netted five goals and provided four assists.

He was described as “outstanding” by Liverpool manager Arne Slot after the Hammers lost 2-1 at Anfield to a late Virgil van Dijk header. He can also play in several positions across the forward line, offering some versatility to Frank. He played at left-wing, centre-forward and right-wing for West Ham last term.

He has an £85m release clause in his contract with the Irons but according to ESPN, the Hammers are willing to let him go for less than that figure.
