Returning to England last summer to become our Head Coach, after two years in Norway, Martin guided us to a record-breaking campaign in the Women’s Super League by recording our highest-ever points tally in a single season in the competition and our joint-highest finish in the table (fifth place).
Having produced performances of the highest quality in attacking areas, we scored the highest tally of goals in a single league season (35) compared to our previous campaigns in the WSL, while we also showed resilience at the back with a number of strong defensive displays – and these displays were backed by a strong following last term from our Lilywhite fanbase.
We recorded our highest-ever Barclays Women’s Super League attendance at Brisbane Road for the north London derby in November, 2025, and saw a terrific following on our travels across the country, which hasn’t gone unnoticed by Martin as he spoke about the connection growing even stronger between the squad and fans.
“The supporters have been brilliant,” he told us, when looking back at his first year in the role. “From day one, I’ve felt how much they care about this team and this club, but as the season progressed, you could really feel that connection growing stronger.
“We saw the numbers grow at home and away games, and that means a lot to us. It shows that people are starting to feel connected to the team, to the players and to the journey we are on. That support gives the players energy, and I think the players have worked hard to give that back through their performances, their behaviours and the way they represent the shirt.
“For me, connection is not something you can fake. It comes through actions, through honesty, through commitment, and through a team showing that they understand what it means to play for Tottenham Hotspur.
“The fans have been a real strength for us and we want to keep building that. We want our supporters to feel proud of the team, feel part of the journey, and feel excited about where we are going. Hopefully, next season, we can keep growing that connection even more and make our home and away support an even bigger part of who we are.”
