Tottenham Hotspur are set to be one of the more active clubs on transfer deadline day, with Thomas Frank still in need of a couple of new recruits.

Despite Tottenham’s loss to Bournemouth, Spurs have started very well in the Premier League this season, but there’s always room for improvement.

A defender is probably needed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while another forward would be handy for Thomas Frank.

So who could Spurs sign on deadline day? TBR Football assesses the options.

Ademola Lookman

Ademola Lookman is a winger on Tottenham’s radar, with the Nigerian very unhappy at Atalanta.

Lookman wants to leave Italy, and with previous ties to the Premier League, Spurs could be an ideal destination.

With Brennan Johnson’s place in the Spurs XI questioned by fans, could Lookman be the man to come in and give them some much-needed depth?

Manuel Akanji

Manuel Akanji is another player rumoured to be on the move, with Tottenham also interested in his signature.

As a defender, you don’t really get more versatile than the Manchester City man. Akanji had a failed move to Galatasaray, so it could now mean a Premier League move materialises.

Akanji may be open to a Tottenham move, as TBR Football revealed, so watch this one as the day goes on.

Nathan Ake

From one unsettled Manchester City defender to another, Nathan Ake could also be on the move on January 1.

TBR Football revealed alongside Akanji that Ake could be an option for Frank. Ake also fits the bill as a versatile defender, able to play left-back and centre-back, similarly to Micky van de Ven.

The Dutchman seems less likely to leave the Etihad than Akanji – but don’t rule it out.

Morgan Rogers

After securing Xavi Simons, another blockbuster acquisition of Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers can’t be ruled out.

Apparently, Spurs are ready to offer Aston Villa a bumper £80m deal to secure the 2024 young PFA Player of the Year.

However, this would take a lot to come to fruition on the final day, so we’d be inclined to tread on the side of caution when rooting for this one.

Randal Kolo Muani

Last but not least, Randal Kolo Muani is looking for a team to play his football with next season – and Tottenham can’t be discounted.

Juventus are pushing to bring back Kolo Muani, working on a paid loan with an obligation tied to conditions to ease FFP impact.

That said, PSG are looking to sell, which means a bid from a Premier League club like Spurs could prise him away from their clutches.
