Two days ago, TyC Sports reported Racing Club de Avellaneda offered $5m to Tottenham Hotspur for 60% of Alejo Véliz’s rights. That means it’s a full transfer, but Spurs would get 40% of a future fee.
Later that day, Olé and Racing de Alma both denied Racing making an offer for the striker but insisted they will soon table a bid.
A fresh report from Racing de Alma reports the Argentine club are going all out and made a formal offer for the Tottenham player in the last few hours.
Racing have offered $5m [€4.3m] and Spurs will be entitled to receive 30% of the fee from a future sale.
Olé provide a few additional updates on the South American’s club firm desire to sign the 21-year-old.
They back up Racing de Alma’s claim about the details of the offer and add that the club made this formal offer to Tottenham in the ‘last few hours’.
Thomas Frank’s side have made it clear they will only consider a sale, with a significant percentage of a future sale.
Olé states Racing are ‘currently in full negotiations’ with the Europa League winners over finding an agreement. They add unnamed clubs from Europe and Brazil are also in the picture to sign the striker.
Although Tottenham want a sale, both reports don’t mention whether they have accepted Racing’s formal bid for Véliz.
