Our Women’s Under-19s return to Capital Cup action next week as they face London Bees in the quarter-final stage – and supporters can head down and watch the game for free!

The match is on Thursday 2 April at Cheshunt Football Club with kick-off at 7.45pm UK as our youngsters aim to reach the final four stage of the competition for a second year running.

Competing in a senior cup, the competition provides our youngsters a unique opportunity to go toe-to-toe with experienced players in the Women’s pyramid compared to the usual Academy football week in, week out.

Sabiha Jamal’s side put in an impressive performance against FA Women’s National League Division One South East side Dulwich Hamlet last time out in the competition, where an own goal and a stunner from Grace Bellwood earned us a 2-1 victory at Champion Hill.

The fixture against the Bees next month is the first time one of our home fixtures will be opened to the supporters at Cheshunt Football Club – and we would love to encourage our fanbase to head down!

As mentioned above, the game will be open to supporters for free!

Just head down to Cheshunt Football Club, either by public transport or car, and no ticket is required, just enter through the turnstiles and watch our next generation of players at the Club.

You will be able to enter one hour before kick-off (6.45pm) and hot food plus drinks will also be available on the night.

How is our Under-19s getting on?

Away from taking part in the senior Capital Cup competition, our Under-19s regularly compete in the Professional Game Academy League throughout the campaign.

In the first half of the season, where the two league tables are regionalised, our young side finished mid-table and were positioned into PGA League Division Two and, after 13 games in the competition, we currently sit fifth in the standings.

Jamal’s side have enjoyed a good run of form in recent weeks, currently on a four-game unbeaten run in all competitions, including that win over Dulwich Hamlet at a packed Champion Hill.

Alongside plenty of points, we have been in fine goalscoring form as well!

In our last three games in the PGA, we have scored 13 goals in total and forward Grace Bellwood has been at the forefront of that, scoring five goals in the last five games – taking her tally to nine for the season.
