Tottenham Hotspur have started to struggle under Thomas Frank, and one of their key players has been on a particularly poor run of form.
The North London club have drawn three of their last four matches, including against Brighton, Wolves and Bodo/Glimt.
Thomas Frank’s team have been dropping points, but also performances have been pretty abject with Tottenham Hotspur struggling to create chances.
Following their draw away in Norway, Gabriel Agbonlahor has been particularly shocked by one Spurs player who has been struggling this season.
Gabby Agbonlahor shares concerns over Richarlison at Tottenham
Gabby Agbonlahor has concerns for Tottenham if Richarlison is going to be their first-choice number nine this season.
The former Premier League striker thought the Brazilian would kick on after Richarlison started the season in great form, with two goals against Burnley.
But against Bodo, Richarlison had just ten touches in what was a pretty uninspired display from the 28-year-old.
“Richarlison for me, big money, £60 million he cost. He started the season on fire, two goals against Burnley, then scored a tap-in against Brighton,” Agbonlahor told TalkSPORT.
“Then you’re like, this could be the season Richarlison kicks on and becomes the main man, but the same thing happens season after season with Richarlison.
“He will have a couple of good games, he’ll have three or four games where he will give absolutely zero, and if he’s leading your line, with Solanke’s injury problems, that’s a scare for me for Spurs.”
Meanwhile, Glenn Hoddle thinks Frank should drop Richarlison, with the striker struggling with no competition for his place in the team.
Dominic Solanke has taken to social media to update supporters about his injury, stating that he hopes to be ‘back on the pitch in the very near future’.
Solanke underwent surgery on an ankle injury which had been troubling, but reports suggest that Spurs hope he will be back after this month’s international break.
“Hi everyone, quick update about my current situation. The last few months have been very frustrating as l’ve tried everything possible to try and push through my ankle issue before taking the option of surgery.
None of this managed to solve the problem, so we had to go ahead with minor surgery which I underwent this morning. It was all successful, so hopefully I’ll be back on the pitch in the very near future!”
