Late drama and penalty shootout success at London City Lionesses on Monday evening booked our spot in the quarter-final of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.

Matilda Vinberg handed us the lead after just seven minutes in the tie in Bromley but two goals in two minutes – from Danielle van de Donk and Jana Fernandez – turned the game into the hosts’ favour on the hour mark.

It looked like our journey in the competition was coming to an end until the fifth minute of stoppage time when we were awarded a penalty from Teyah Goldie’s handball, which saw Bethany England calmly slot away to send the game into extra time.

As both sides failed to be separated after an additional 30 minutes, a penalty shootout followed and after 17 well-taken spot-kicks, Lize Kop produced the heroics to deny Wassa Sangare and earn us a 9-8 win, sparking jubilant celebrations at the end.
