Signe Gaupset opened the scoring after 13 minutes before a stunning strike from Olivia Holdt – her ninth goal of the season - put us in firm control of the London derby before we even reached the half hour mark.
We should have added to our advantage in the second period, Maika Hamano striking the woodwork and Cathinka Tandberg going close on a number of occasions, but a goal from former Spur Alanna Kennedy in the closing stages created a nervy ending with Lize Kop producing some key saves late on to ensure we came away with maximum points.
The victory took us to 33 points – our highest-ever tally in a single WSL season – while it also solidified our spot in fifth with one game left to play – an away trip to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday 16 May (1pm UK).
Following the full-time whistle, there was an emotional post-match ceremony for six of our departing players this summer – Charli Grant, Josefine Rybrink, Luana Buhler, Kit Graham and Bethany England having the opportunity to say goodbye to our supporters.
