England striker Harry Kane is in the form of his life at present, scoring with ease for both the Three Lions and Bayern Munich as he aims to set a record-breaking season.
The London-born star already has 18 goals in just 10 games for Bayern Munich so far this season, with three assists in the Bundesliga to boot – meaning he’s got 21 club goal contributions in just 827 minutes of action.
Add his three goals in three games for England, and there currently aren’t any better strikers in world football than the former Tottenham Hotspur man.
The North London club’s record goalscorer won his first piece of silverware last season via the Bundesliga title, and that has led Kane to state that he is playing the best football of his career in Germany.
Harry Kane is a Tottenham legend, there is no doubting that. Spending 19 years at the club from youth level to captain, the only thing missing from his time in the capital was a trophy.
Kane sits second in the Premier League’s all-time top goalscorer rankings with 213 strikes, behind only Alan Shearer in the standings.
However, his time in Bayern has been much easier as the Bavarian outfit have a monopoly over the rest of the clubs in the league, making them favourites to win league titles year in, year out.
With that in mind, Kane has told Daily Mail Sport that he has made the best start to any season he’s played in at the Allianz Arena, eclipsing any of his Spurs campaigns.
“You’ve had an incredible start to the season? Hat trick Harry they are calling you, is this the best you have felt?” Kane was asked.
And the England skipper said: “I think so, this is the best start to any season I have had for sure.
“I just feel in a good place, I’ve been here in Munich for a couple of years now.
“Everything is settled, my wife and kids are happy, and that all contributes.
“I’m at that age now, I have loads of experience, I’m going into games I’m excited and I know if I get chances I’m going to score.”
With 21 goals in 13 games in all competitions for club and country, it will be interesting to see how many strikes Kane ends up with at the end of the campaign – especially with the World Cup on the horizon in the summer.
Harry Kane’s influence is still felt in the Premier League
Harry Kane moved to Bayern Munich two years ago to spell the end of his time in the English top-flight, but that hasn’t stopped some of the Premier League’s biggest stars from praising him.
England teammate Anthony Gordon called Kane a ‘genius’ after his performances on the international stage, with the duo having forged a decent partnership together whilst donning the famous white shirt.
Even Arsenal star Gabriel has claimed that Kane was his toughest-ever opponent, putting North London rivalries aside to applaud the one-time Leicester City loanee for his longevity and talent on the big stage.
Kane’s best and joint-second best campaigns in terms of goals at club level have both come at Bayern, scoring 44 goals in his debut campaign in Germany, before nabbing 41 goals the season prior.
But this season has seen him almost half those tallies already by October, and Kane will be hoping that he can beat those tallies with ease, especially with a World Cup year on the horizon.
