Harry Kane's future at Bayern Munich has been the subject of speculation three years after he moved to the Bundesliga giants from Tottenham Hotspur
Former Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is reportedly “very close” to agreeing a new contract with Bayern Munich - containing a clause surrounding a Premier League return. Kane left Spurs in the summer of 2023 to complete a permanent move to the Bundesliga giants in a deal worth £100million.
Since then, Kane has scored 152 goals across 154 appearances and has helped Bayern win two Bundesliga titles, and has won the Golden Boot in each of his three seasons in the German top flight.
Kane’s current contract with Bayern is set to expire at the end of the season, which has led to speculation that a move away from the German giants could be on the cards.
There has even been tentative speculation that Kane could return to Tottenham, but that now appears unlikely following the latest update on the England international’s future, although a move back to England could come in the future.
According to Fabrizio Romano, via his YouTube channel, Kane is now on the verge of agreeing a new contract to extend his time with Bayern, which would see rumours of a potential return to Tottenham come to an end.
It has been claimed that Kane is “very close” to putting pen to paper on a new deal with Bayern, with just a few more details left to sort out.
One of the clauses that still needs to be ironed out, it has been claimed, is one that would involve a return to the Premier League, with Tottenham holding matching rights on any offer made by an English top-flight club.
It has not been stated, though, how long an extension on his contract Kane would sign with Bayern.
