Tottenham are eyeing a summer move for one of Bundesliga 2’s gems.

Tottenham Hotspur have adopted a transfer policy where they strive to bring in prodigious talents from across the globe to N17. This was a strategy supported by Daniel Levy in the last few years before he decided to step down from his executive chairman post in 2025.

And while the North Londoners have continued to do so, it has been a massive source of frustration among the supporters, who are demanding that the club bosses bring in more players who have the capacity to have an immediate impact. It looks like the decision-makers at White Hart Lane are set to stick to their transfer strategy as they show interest in signing one of the shining prospects of German football.

We could see the North Londoners enhance their pool of young talent by investing in the summer transfer window.

Tottenham express interest in Hertha Berlin wonderkid Kennet Eichhorn

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham have held talks with Hertha Berlin’s highly-regarded talent Kennet Eichhorn (who plays a bit like Toni Kroos) ahead of the summer transfer window. Liverpool are one of the leading contenders to sign the central defensive midfielder if he decides to make a move to England this summer, but the Lilywhites are patiently monitoring his situation.

A special talent, Kennet Eichhorn, is planning to leave Hertha Berlin this summer. The 16-year-old could move for a fee in the region of £10m due to a release clause. Despite his tender age, he made 17 appearances for Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga 2.

Eichhorn has been a player making waves in the second tier of German football, producing consistent class and composure throughout. That assessment is not hyperbole. In the context of Bundesliga 2 football, where there are several unknown, young commodities plying their trades for different clubs, the teenage prodigy grabbed the most eyeballs this past season.

The Berlin-born wonderkid showcased his technical ability and composure in the middle of the park. And he would be one of those signings that would have a huge upside in years to come. Hertha must be bracing themselves for offers for the player, knowing that their state of keeping hold of him won’t count too much if big clubs come knocking on their door.

As far as Spurs are concerned, signing Eichhorn would be complex as Liverpool are frontrunners for his services. Interestingly, the Hertha midfielder, who is 16, wouldn’t be eligible to play in England just yet due to Brexit rules, meaning it would likely be a pre-agreed signing for the future. IF the kid has to make a decision on his future right now, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he chooses Liverpool over Tottenham.
