A trip to Leicester City is next on the agenda in the Barclays Women’s Super League – and we have a strong record on our travels to the King Power Stadium.

Having faced the Foxes on eight occasions since their promotion to England’s top flight in 2021, we remain unbeaten in our previous meetings with them – winning six and drawing twice, including last season’s 1-1 stalemate in Leicestershire.

However, Leicester City have posed a strong home record in the WSL in recent months, winning five of their last seven league games, which included an impressive 1-0 win over Liverpool earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Olivia Holdt certainly knows how to make an impact since joining us in January, 2025.

Two of our last 24 WSL games have been scored by a substitute and both of those have been netted by the Denmark international – a late winner against Crystal Palace in January before scoring a late goal in the defeat to Manchester City last Friday.

In fact, the exciting midfielder has averaged the most shots per 90 (2.23) between any of our players to have played 200+ minutes so far.

Last time out against the Foxes

Match stats

Despite the defeat to City, we’ll be looking to win three of our opening four games of a WSL campaign for the third time after previously doing so in 2021/22 (W4) and 2023/24 (W3, L1).

Leicester City have taken the fewest shots (15) and have the worst expected goals tally (1.2) of any team in the WSL this season – the Foxes have failed to score in a joint-high five WSL games in 2025.

Only West Ham (14.2m) and Brighton and Hove Albion (15.4m) have a shorter average goal kick length than us (17.3) in the WSL this season, currently averaging our most ever completed passes per game (381) and best pass accuracy (82.1%) in a single WSL campaign.

Leicester City have allowed the most passes per defensive action in the WSL this season (20.7, Brighton 12.7 next), also averaging the lowest possession figure of any side (34.2%).

Only Chelsea’s Ellie Carpenter (13) has made more tackles than Leicester City’s Julie Thibaud (12) in the WSL so far this season, while only two defenders have made more interceptions than the Frenchwoman (5).
