Richarlison has lavished praise on new teammate, Mohammed Kudus, after the Ghanaian lit up Tottenham Hotspur’s 3-0 win over Burnley with a dazzling debut performance on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

Kudus, who assisted both of Richarlison’s goals, was at the heart of Spurs’ attack, combining flair, precision, and timing to devastating effect.

His second assist set up a breathtaking acrobatic volley from the Brazilian, a strike already being touted as one of the goals of the season.

Speaking after the match, Richarlison compared Kudus’ flair and confidence on the ball to the artistry of Brazilian football.

“I feel this guy is Brazilian. I love dribbles, I love skills, and I’m so happy with the game. The gaffer said it was crucial before the game, I’m so happy,” he said.

The comments reflect the instant chemistry building between Spurs’ new attacking duo.

Kudus’ ability to glide past defenders and create openings resonated with Richarlison, whose own career has been shaped by Brazil’s culture of expressive, skillful football often described as “samba style.”

Kudus himself emphasised that his approach is about more than tricks and flicks; it’s about timing, execution, and entertaining supporters in the right moments.

“Part of the main reason I came here is playing in the position I want to play and being in the position where I can entertain the fans, because I believe that’s what the game is about.

“But most importantly, it’s doing it at the right time. Good timing, higher positions in the game, so it’s good we got the win and enjoyed part of the game as well,” he said.
