Matilda Nilden helped Sweden Under-23s round off their international camp with a big 5-1 win over Romania in an international friendly on Friday afternoon.
Our young Swede stepped off the bench in the final quarter of the contest and, in the third minute of stoppage time, she completed the scoring for her nation to secure an emphatic win in Romania.
Sweden enjoyed a perfect start to the contest as Svea Rehnberg opened the scoring after just two minutes before Klara Svensson Senelius doubled their lead nine minutes ahead of the break.
Rehnberg grabbed her second of the game on 75 minutes to extend Sweden’s advantage and, despite the home side pulling a goal back three minutes from time, Ellen Wangerheim reinstated their three-goal advantage before Matilda completed the scoring deep in stoppage time.
Our number 14 was introduced on 77 minutes, replacing goalscorer Rehnberg, to earn herself some additional minutes in the final game of the international window.
