Jack Grealish has recently been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham have opened talks to sign Grealish this summer.

With James Maddison suffering a potentially lengthy knee injury in Tottenham’s 1-1 draw against Newcastle United, the Lilywhites’ only have one attacking midfielder on their books in Dejan Kulusevski.

Considering Grealish is a natural number 10, he would perhaps be tailor-made to replace Maddison at Spurs, given that he has a wealth of experience under his belt at the highest level as well.

Furthermore, perhaps Jack Grealish would fancy playing behind the striker at another club, considering he has largely played on the left-wing for City.

With Manchester City prepared to offload Grealish, several clubs across Europe have the golden opportunity of signing one of the most exciting attacking players in world football.

Speaking to Sky Sports in 2021, the 29-year-old raved about James Maddison, who could become his teammate at Tottenham if he says yes to a move to North London, as he said: “Madders knows what I think of him as a player. He’s absolutely out of this world as a player.”

Grealish continued to praise Tottenham midfielder Maddison, saying: “Probably one of the biggest compliments you could give him is by asking [Jamie] Vardy who he would want behind him from the players he has ever played with. I can guarantee that he would say Madders.”

“He’s been brilliant, especially for the last two or three months. He said to me before he’s really been working on trying to score more.”

James Maddison once provided honest Jack Grealish verdict

Grealish almost signed for Tottenham in 2018 and the chance to seal a move to the North Londoners and become one of the main men in Thomas Frank’s side would be enticing for most players in the Premier League.

The former Brentford boss has a track record of getting the best out of attacking players, such as Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa and Mikkel Damsgaard.

Furthermore, Maddison admires Grealish massively as a player, admitting when he was at Leicester City that his countryman was on his level — a statement that may encourage Tottenham to ramp up their efforts to sign the former.

“Both of us! Jack’s a top, top player and a good friend of mine, so I can’t answer that one, sorry mate.”

“I think sometimes you just appreciate quality. The first time I saw him play, I just knew he was a top player. You could tell. He’s got that way about him and plays with personality.”

Maddison concluded: “Our manager, Brendan Rodgers, always talks about playing with personality and he is someone who definitely does that.”
