Tottenham have been offered an update on a potential move for Manchester City's Jack Grealish - amid ongoing transfer links with the playmaker.

Spurs are one of the club linked with an interest in the England man this summer, with Newcastle United also one of the clubs mentioned. His time at the Etihad Stadium looks to be up with the player not included in the squad for the Club World Cup - which is about to get underway in the United States.

talkSPORT named Tottenham, along with Everton, as the two clubs showing an interest in Grealish, with the club looking to add a left-sided winger after the departure of Timo Werner.

Grealish has two years remaining on his contract with City - having signed from Aston Villa for £100million in 2021. He reportedly earns around £300,000 per-week.

The Guardian report that City are looking for a fee of around £50million for the 29-year-old in the current transfer window, which re-opens on Monday. However, they are yet to receive any formal offers.

It is added if there continues to be a lack of interest around a permanent deal, then the club might be willing to consider a loan deal. If City would be willing to contribute to Grealish's wages in any temporary deal is still to be seen, which could be a key point for potential suitors.

Grealish struggled for game-time for City during the 2024/25 campaign. He scored one goal in 20 Premier League appearances throughout the season, with most of those outings coming from the subs bench.

The City man will be one of many potential targets that new Spurs manager Thomas Frank is likely to look at over the next few weeks as he assesses his squad and where it needs strengthening.

City's stance on Grealish means that it may be a deal for later in the transfer window. The club are likely to wait to see if there's any better options before sanctioning a loan move.
