Tottenham sent the precocious Mikey Moore on loan to Rangers back in August.

It seemed to be an exciting move for the England U19 international after his breakthrough campaign at Spurs last term, where he made his first Premier League start and 19 appearances in total across all competitions.

However, this term has been utterly chaotic at Rangers so early into the season, with fans calling for Russell Martin to be sacked as the Glaswegians sit eighth in the Scottish Premiership.

A Rangers fan has now left Jamie O’Hara stunned after calling talkSPORT to share an update on Mikey Moore.

Fan assessment of Mikey Moore surprises Jamie O’Hara

The man who made 56 appearances for Tottenham asked a Rangers supporter on talkSPORT: “You got Mikey Moore. I mean, how’s Mikey Moore doing up there? He was on the bench today. I know. What’s going on with him?”

In response, the caller said: “To be honest, Jamie, he’s only had two good games, mate.”

O’Hara replied: “You know, he’s the next big thing at Tottenham. I’m surprised.”

Rangers fans criticised Moore after a disappointing display in the recent 2-1 win over Livingston, and it has been tough for the 18-year-old to showcase his skills in a turbulent environment under Martin.

Chris Sutton even said the teenager finds himself in a “toxic” situation at Ibrox as fans call for a change in the dugout.

Tottenham can recall Mikey Moore

If no improvement takes place between now and January, Tottenham do have the option to bring the Southwark-born prospect back to north London.

Spurs fans actually want Moore to be recalled after seeing how poorly Rangers are performing, an understandable response as he only has one assist to show for his efforts in nine appearances.

In truth, the winger would arguably be better off back at Tottenham even if he wasn’t playing, just so he can adjust to how Thomas Frank operates compared to Ange Postecoglou last season.

Hopefully – if Martin is dismissed – whoever arrives in Glasgow can help Moore progress in his development.
