Brennan Johnson was on target in spectacular fashion as Wales rounded off their World Cup qualifying campaign with an astonishing 7-1 home win over North Macedonia on Tuesday night.

Already assured of a place in March’s play-offs before the game, Wales knew that victory in Cardiff would secure them a home draw in the semi-finals.

And they delivered in some style, with Brennan grabbing a goal and an assist in a resounding victory.

Having crossed for David Brooks to make it 2-0 in the 21st minute, our Bilbao hero added his name to the scoresheet eight minutes before the break, cutting in from the left before firing into the top corner on his right foot via a slight deflection to make it 3-1 going into the half-time break.

The hosts ran rampant after the restart to notch up a huge win, with Brennan also having a hand in the build-up to Dan James’ goal – Wales’ fourth of the night – shortly before the hour mark.

The former Nottingham Forest man completed the full 90 minutes.
