The big Super Lig transfer story on Tuesday has been Galatasaray reportedly closing in on a move to sign Yves Bissouma from Tottenham Hotspur. There’s been big confidence a move is on the way and it’s made bigger news in Turkey because Fenerbahçe were linked with a move for the 28-year-old not so long ago.

With the two Istanbul clubs being big rivals, it’s obviously added some spice to the potential transfer and questions are being asked about Fenerbahçe losing out on the midfielder.

This all comes at a time when Jose Mourinho is having a rough few days, and sending messages out via the media about feeling let down on transfers. Fenerbahçe play Benfica in Lisbon on Wednesday evening, in the crucial second leg of their Champions League qualifier. The first leg finished 0-0.

Ahead of the match the Fenerbahçe manager has suggested he hasn’t got what he wanted to be able to secure qualification and fight for trophies this season, and there’s some snipes being sent back at him.

Regarding Bissouma, a Turkish journalist has claimed Fenerbahçe missing out to Galatasaray is actually the managers fault. AjansFener quote Volkan Demir as saying: “Mourinho gave a negative report regarding Bissouma.”
