Galatasaray are interested in a deal for Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma, but need to convince Spurs on a loan deal to get him.

That’s according to journalist Ali Naci Küçük, via Futbol Arena, who says the Turkish side are determined to add a midfielder to their squad.

Bissouma has been linked with a move away from Tottenham this summer as he doesn’t appear to currently be in Thomas Frank’s plans.

A move to Turkey has been mooted for weeks without anything progressing but a report three days ago insisted that Galatasaray had put themselves into the picture.

That claimed that they had joined the likes of Juventus and Fenerbahce in looking at the Tottenham man and were planning to make their move for him before too long.

Küçük backs that up, reporting that the decision to move for a midfielder was made after the recent win over Fatih Karagümrük. The problem at the minute, though, is that Tottenham don’t want to sanction a loan deal and would prefer to sell outright to try and recover some of the €29.2m they paid to sign him from Brighton in 2022.

“Galatasaray management clearly decided that a midfielder would be a good option, so as not to be left out of the woodwork later in the season,” he said.

“This was discussed with coach Okan. Now, Galatasaray wants to bring in a player on loan in that area. Because, as I said, they’ll be allocating their transfer budget to center-backs next year and also spending on goalkeepers, so they want to loan a midfielder.

“At this point, Galatasaray’s primary target is Bissouma; the player is ready to come to Turkey. Tottenham is ready to let him out of his contract.

“But the only disagreement here is that Tottenham want to sell. Galatasaray want to loan him for a transfer fee. If Galatasaray manages to convince the English club at that point, they will sign him.”
