Leeds United are reportedly among the clubs who could look to prise prolific marksman Troy Parrott from AZ Alkmaar.

Parrott left Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2024 with just four senior appearances for the North London club under his belt.

He sought pastures new in the Eredivisie, a division in which he has thrived. This season, the 24-year-old has weighed in with 16 league goals and 31 in total across all competitions.

Leeds have previously been linked with the Republic of Ireland international, who is also thought to have attracted interest from European heavyweights.

Leeds United named among Troy Parrott admirers

According to Dutch outlet Soccer News, Leeds are curious to see whether they will be able to push through a deal for Parrott.

Everton and AC Milan are said to have the same stance and the report has also credited his former club Tottenham with interest.

A summer battle for Parrott’s services looks likely and it remains to be seen which clubs get themselves involved. Not only would he arguably be a coup for Leeds, he is a player who would add a different dimension to their attack.

After AZ Alkmaar’s recent season finale, Parrott said: “A lot can happen in football, but if it was my last match with Alkmaar, I’ve had the best two years of my life.

“Now it is important for me to take the next step in my career and to play at the highest level.”

Troy Parrott’s career path

Parrott spent the bulk of his senior years at Spurs in the loan system, spending time with Millwall, Ipswich Town, Milton Keynes Dons, Preston North End and Excelsior.

It was at Excelsior that the goals started to flow and AZ Alkmaar swooped to strike a permanent deal after Parrott’s season on loan in the Netherlands.

He is also a key figure for the Republic of Ireland national team and has scored 11 goals in 35 appearances for his country.
